StyleME Pty Ltd ("StyleME", "we", "us", or "our") operates the AI fashion intelligence platform available at style.zeg.com.au and via our mobile applications. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you use our services.

We process personal data in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. For users in the European Economic Area, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For users in California, we comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

What We Collect

Information you provide directly

• Account data: name, email address, and password when you register
• Style profile: answers to our onboarding questionnaire, aesthetic preferences, and occasion requirements
• Body data: measurements, body shape details, or photos you voluntarily provide for Virtual Fitting features — stored with AES-256 encryption and never shared
• Wardrobe data: photos, descriptions, and metadata of clothing items you add to Smart Closet
• Purchase signals: items you buy through our platform, which refine your recommendations
• Communications: messages, feedback, and support requests you send us

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: features used, pages visited, time spent, and interaction patterns within the app
• Preference signals: items liked, skipped, saved, or dismissed — used to train your personal model
• Device information: browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and device identifiers
• Log data: IP address, access timestamps, and referring URLs
• Cookie and tracking data: as described in our Cookie Policy

How We Use It

We use your personal information only for the following purposes:

• To provide the StyleME platform and all its features
• To build, maintain, and continuously improve your personal Style DNA model
• To generate outfit recommendations, fit predictions, and trend alerts tailored to you
• To enable Virtual Fitting Room functionality using your body data
• To power Smart Closet organisation, wear tracking, and gap analysis
• To send transactional emails (account, security, purchase confirmations)
• To send marketing emails, if you have opted in — you can opt out at any time
• To analyse aggregate platform usage and improve our services
• To detect fraud, abuse, and security threats
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data to train general-purpose AI models shared with third parties. Your Style DNA belongs to you.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Full stop. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: We share necessary data with trusted vendors who help us operate the platform (hosting, analytics, payment processing). All are contractually bound to handle data per our standards.
• Retail partners: When you make a purchase through StyleME, we share the minimum required information (delivery address, item details) with the relevant retailer. We do not share your Style DNA or body data.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or government authority.
• Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you in advance.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Specifically:

• Account data is retained until you delete your account
• Body measurement photos are deleted within 30 days of processing unless you explicitly save them
• Wardrobe and style data is retained for the life of your account and deleted upon request
• Log data is retained for 90 days for security purposes
• Anonymised, aggregated analytics may be retained indefinitely

Security

We employ industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

• All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Body measurements and photos encrypted at rest using AES-256
• Access to personal data restricted to authorised personnel only
• Regular penetration testing and security audits
• SOC 2 Type II compliance in progress

Despite our best efforts, no system is perfectly secure. If we experience a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you within 72 hours as required by law.

Your Rights

You have meaningful control over your data. Depending on your location, you have some or all of the following rights:

Children's Privacy

StyleME is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.

Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email and by displaying a prominent notice on our platform at least 14 days before changes take effect. Your continued use of StyleME after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
